High Biocompatibility

Proclear Sphere contact lenses also contain a synthetic imitation of phosphorylcho­line, a substance found naturally in human cell membranes which is responsible for retaining water balance. Proclear Sphere contact lenses are also characterized by their high resistance to dehydration. The lenses remain pleasantly moist throughout the day. Phosphorylcholine also ensures the high biocompatibility of Proclear Sphere contact lenses, which means the lens, although a foreign body, is well-tolerated. Phosphorylcholine forms a protective film on the surface of the lens which prevents the formation of protein or lipid deposits that can cause discomfort and decrease oxygen permeability.
